Preview for Erik Paulson, Granimal and JD's landmark book "Rough and Tumble"

How did Ju Jitsu get started? Where did mixed martial arts come from?  How did the Ultimate Fighting Championships begin?  How did professional wrestling come to be the sports entertainment franchise that it is today?  These are some of the many questions that will be answered in the pages of this book.

Erik Paulson has an intimate knowledge of mixed martial arts.  He has trained under the legendary Rickson Gracie, he earned his black belt in ju jitsu under Rigan Machado, he mastered Jeet Kun Doo under the tutelage of Dan Inosano, studied catch wrestling under the watchful eye of Billy Robinson.  Erik took the skills he learned from these many disciplines and became the first American World Shooto Champion.  Erik has also passed his knowledge on to mixed martial arts champions like Brock Lesnar, Josh Barnett and Sean Sherk.

In this book Erik, Matt "Granimal" Granahan and JD Dwyer examine the history of American Submission Wrestling in depth.  The book looks at some of our most powerful American Presidents in a way they have never been examined.  Many people do not know that many of our most famous presidents were also skilled grapplers.  We look at American Rough and Tumble a brutal form of hand to hand combat that got its start on America's rugged frontier.  We examine the carnivals where boxers and wrestlers took on the toughest men from each town they visited.  From there we look at the impact American submission wrestling has had on the world followed by an examination of early professional catch as catch can wrestling in America, a look at the Living Legends of American Submission
wrestling and an examination of the New Leaders of the Old School.
